Résumé

Dans un orphelinat anglais, Agnès 6 ans, prend sous sa protection la petite Meredith, âgée de 2 ans. Trente ans plus tard, Meredith Sanders, qui a été adoptée par un couple d'Américains, est une femme d'affaires fortunée. Lors d'un voyage à Londres, Meredith rend visite à Agnès. Celle-ci, très malade, lui demande de se renseigner sur ce qui se trafiquait dans l'orphelinat de leur enfance.
